Gaviscon Liquid peppermint 600ml

Gaviscon Liquid is a treatment widely used to reduce symptoms of gastro-oesophageal reflux including acid regurgitation, heartburn and indigestion. Most helpful after meals (or if you suffer from acid reflux, conducted during pregnancy). This liquid formula contains three active ingredients: Sodium bicarbonate, sodium alginate, and calcium carbonate. Here’s how they work:

• Calcium carbonate: Calcium and sodium bicarbonate are antacids that neutralise excess stomach acid, reducing pain and suffering from indigestion and heartburn.

• Sodium alginate: This puts a protective barrier over the stomach’s contents to keep acid from rising up into the throat and chest. It calms and soothes irritation, it relieves the burning sensation.

Warnings and Precautions

Before using Gaviscon Liquid, it’s important to know the following:

• Children under 6 years: Not fit for this age group.

Do not use if you have a known allergy or sensitivity to any of the ingredients listed. Speak to Your GP Before Use If:

• You are pregnant or were recently pregnant or breastfeeding.

• You have very bad kidney problems.

• Your blood has low phosphate levels (hypophosphatemia).

• Or you have had, or have, serious kidney or heart disease.

• You have no more gastric acid in your stomach.

Ingredients

• Active Ingredients: Sodium alginate (500mg), sodium bicarbonate (267mg), calcium carbonate (160mg).

• Other Ingredients: (Composition N.1) Methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, saccharin sodium, sodium hydroxide, peppermint oil and water. If stomach acid causes discomfort, Gaviscon Liquid is a handy treatment; it will neutralise the acid, then form a soothing barrier to protect your throat and chest.
